Railway preservation is the product of many hours of dedicated work
by many people within various groups or departments thst constitute
the railway as a whole. In dedicating these working hours to one group
it is not always possible to see the whole picture that is presented
to the public. Having worked within the East Lancashire Railway on the
permanent way, as station staff, and as a passenger and goods guard.
I feel it is necessary that the 'greater picture' of the railway should
be available to everyone. The list is endless, and the expectations.
The best way to acheive this and to let the spectator formulate their
own opinions was to record what was happening and present it in a format
that would be acceptable to all, but also within a price range that
would be within everyones pocket. A.V.V. was first formed as Amature
Video View (1993) but soon found a quality of its own, and from the
insistence from our viewers, dropped the 'Amature' and became Atlantic
Video View.
