Main Line Steam 2009 in the North West
This two programme DVD starts with the busy steam calendar of 2009, and the breath taking Great Britain 2 as it passed through the North West. Scots Guardsman returned to main line duty, and is seen on many of its runs over North West metals. Ian Riley's’ Black Five 45407, and Bert Hitchin's’ 45231 make spectacular footage over Copy Pit, the S&C and the West Coast main line. The final run of 76079 off the East Lancashire Railway is seen at Castleton, and many of the through runs of 6233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’, and 6201 ‘Princess Elizabeth’. Tornado 60163 is seen on its first ever run over Ribblehead viaduct, and a slippery return at Ais Gill. The second programme is dedicated to the superb Fellsman series of runs in August 2009, with classic shots of 5690 Leander working very hard over the Settle & Carlisle. On board footage helps to complement the magnificent scenery of the Settle and Carlisle Railway.
Sit back and enjoy the sight and sounds of steam at its best!
