Steam Events 1998 This tape features all the steam locomotives that have run on E.L.R. metals in 1998, and details the developments on the locomotives under construction on various sites. 1998 was the 30th anniversary of the end of steam on B.R. and the E.L.R. remembered the occasion in style. Diesel Events 1998 The event of the year in the diesel enthusiast’s calendar was without doubt the E.L.R. Mega Mix 2 held in July 1998. All the locomotives, which ran in this event, are featured on this video. This event was preceded by the 40th Anniversary of the class 40’s, which featured D200. The final diesel event of the year in September featured the blue and grey shuttles behind our resident fleet of diesels.
