40 years since the end of steam on B.R. is seen on the E.L.R. and on the main line. 70013 & 48151 in a photo charter with No 9 ‘Planet’ at the Manchester Museum. 80097 Bury standard class 4 is seen out of the shed, for fitting. January steam event with a superb photo charter evening (photos courtesy of Mr Fred Kerr – as above). 76079, 5690, 4771, 71000, 4936. 45407 & 76079 on the Cotton Mill Express is seen in March, June and October with steam, and in June with Class 40 40145 pass around the Oldham loop. March Diesel event with 37109 etc and March steam with 45407 & 76079 on a mega freight, 71000 & 4936 on passenger.

The clearing of Castlecroft shed, G.M. fire service on railway training, and the arrival of W55001 on the E.L.R. May Thomas….will we see it again? 5690 overhaul. S-160 on the 40’s wartime weekend, and all the other events. A class 158 on the Broadfield Bank! 45407 on the 40th K & WVR anniversary train. Engineering works in the steam sheds, 44871, 45407, Jinty, 1300, 45231, & Royal Scot carriage. First ever run of ‘Beets’ Yates & Duxbury 0-4-0.

D8233 nearing completion. The superb July diesel event 55022, 37901 & 06, Westerns and many more, and absolute feast for the diesel enthusiast! The first run in 30 years for W55001 and a view of the engineering that has helped this ‘Bubble’ back into operation. The October Steam event with 76001, 45407, 71000, 1300, 61994 & Jinty is covered despite some inclement weather. The final shot is 60009 on Miles Platting Bank.
